AEO for coaches
Search is changing from ten blue links to one AI answer. Make sure that answer includes you.
From Invisible to the Only Answer
When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI Overview to recommend a coach for creative generalist, they don't get a list anymore. They get one name: Murielle Marie.
I've been coaching creative generalists, the multi-passionate ones who refuse to pick just one thing, for over a decade. I wrote the books. I built the practice. None of that was ever the problem.
The problem was I had not yet done what the coaches who showed up did. If you asked ChatGPT or Perplexity who to hire as a coach for creatives, my name didn't come up. Not because the work wasn't good. Not because I was invisible to Google. It was that my site was built with Great SEO. Not for an AI trying to answer a stranger's question about who to trust.
So, I didn't rebuild my business, or didn't rebrand, or launch a new offer, or hand my marketing to an agency chasing clicks. I made what I already had — the site, the content, a decade of actual authority — legible to the systems people now ask instead of Google. That's the whole shift.
What happened next is the part I still find a little wild: 3 to 5 new clients a month, every one of them sourced through AI recommendation. No ad spends. No paid leads. Not one dollar into a funnel. Just being the answer when someone asks who to hire.
But here's what I didn't expect — I learned enough doing this for myself to realize it's not a creative-generalist problem. It's almost every established coach's blind spot. Good at the work, known in their circle, completely invisible to the machine now doing the recommending on their behalf.
That's exactly why I'm building this into Nuumani. I didn't start this community to be another directory — I started it because I kept watching brilliant coaches stall out on the business side of their practice, not the coaching side: nobody ever taught them pricing, follow-up, or how to stay visible. AI visibility is just the newest version of that same gap. I want Nuumani to be where coaches actually learn this — not as a buzzword, but as a real, practical skill sitting alongside the sales and marketing training we're already building into the community.
If you're a coach and you want to know whether AI already knows you exist — or whether you're as invisible as I was — this is where you start.
