Somewhere Tonight, a Potential Client Will Ask AI to Recommend a Coach. Will It Say Your Name?
By Murielle Marie Ungricht
Somewhere tonight, someone will open ChatGPT and type a sentence that describes, almost word for word, the exact person you were trained to help. The machine will consider it for a moment. Then it will answer with a list, and maybe even just a name.
The only question that matters is whether that name is yours.
You will never see this conversation. There is no free notification for when you are mentioned or passed over, no dashboard that pinpoints and records the client who never arrived. The referral simply happens somewhere else, quietly, over and over, and the coach who got chosen rarely knows why either.
This is no longer a thought experiment, and the numbers keep landing in the same place. In the United States, an Adobe survey of 5,000 consumers found that 39% had already used generative AI to shop online, most often to research purchases (55%) and to get product recommendations (47%). A separate Bain & Company survey found that 42% of people who use AI chatbots ask them for shopping recommendations. In the UK, the government's own tracker found that 40% of adults use AI chatbots in their personal lives at least once a month. And across the European Union, the official statistics office Eurostat found that 32.7% of people aged 16 to 74 used generative AI tools in 2025. Four sources, on both sides of the Atlantic, all pointing to the same range: somewhere between one in three and four in ten people already turn to a machine for answers, and many of them ask it what to buy. None of these studies asked about coaches. But "who should I hire to help me?" is the same question in a different shape.
So, we built a way for you to listen in:
Introducing the Nuumani AI Visibility Check
Starting today, any coach can run a free AI Visibility Check. No membership. No credit card. No sales call standing between you and your result.
You give us three questions a real client might ask, in their own words, where you want to be the answer. We feed those questions to three leading AI assistants, OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini, the way a stranger would. Then we show you two things:
1. Whether AI mentions you. If you are already part of the answer, you will see it in black and white.
2. Who AI recommends instead. If you are not, you will see the names each agent selected.
That's it.

Behind the scenes, the check is fully automated. Doing it yourself would take 10 to 20 minutes: logging in to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, asking each the same three questions and saving every answer. We do all of that for you in one step. Digging into why someone else was named instead of you can take hours: studying their websites, tracing the sources AI trusted and comparing them against your own. As a Nuumani member, you get that full report without giving up those hours.
Why it's free, and why it's once
We made it free because every coach deserves to know where they stand. Visibility should not be a privilege reserved for people who already have a marketing budget.
We made it one time per coach because a check is a mirror, not a treadmill. Refreshing it every morning will not change what it shows. What changes the answer is the work you do after you've seen it.
If the answer stings
Most coaches who run this check will not find their name. I didn't either, at first.
When I tested client style searches on ChatGPT and Google, I didn't appear at all for "coach for creative entrepreneurs" or "coach for creatives." For "coach for creative generalists," the phrase I've spent years making unmistakably mine, both named me, and ChatGPT opened its answer with "My pick: Murielle Marie."
Same coach. Same decade of work. Completely different outcome, decided by nothing more than how clearly and consistently I had claimed one specific corner of the world.
That is the lesson worth carrying into your own result. Not being mentioned is not a verdict on your coaching. It is a symptom of lacking AEO know how, and a signal that the machine cannot yet connect your name to the problem you solve.
What the free check won't tell you
The check shows you where you stand. It does not tell you why the other names were chosen, which sources AI trusted when it chose them, or exactly what you would need to change to take their place.
That part is the roadmap, and it's what we build with Nuumani members. It sits alongside the bi-weekly workshops where we keep coaches current on new AI tools and on what it actually takes to get cited, recommended and found.
But the roadmap begins with a single honest answer. Get that first.
The question is already being asked
Right now, someone is describing their problem to a machine and waiting for a name. You can keep guessing whether it's yours, or you can find out right now, for free.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who does AEO for coaches?
Nuumani does. We built our AEO training and tools specifically for coaches, starting with a free AI visibility check and continuing with member workshops and personalized reports.
How do I check my AI visibility?
Ask AI the questions your ideal client would ask, and see whose names come back. Our free check runs those questions across ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini for you.
How do I get ChatGPT to mention me?
Make it easy for AI to understand exactly who you help. Choose one clear specialty and describe it the same way on your website, profiles and articles.
How do I see what my competitors are doing to get cited by LLMs?
Start by finding out who AI names instead of you; the free check shows you that. Nuumani members then get a full report on why those coaches were chosen and which sources AI relied on.
What's the difference between SEO and GEO?
SEO helps you rank in search engine results like Google's list of links. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) helps you get named inside the answers AI tools write, such as ChatGPT or Google's AI Overviews.
