What Is the Best Online Community for Coaches? An Honest Comparison
In short: There is no single best online community for coaches, only the best one for the coach you are right now. ICF’s member community suits coaches building a credentialed career. Evercoach suits coaches who learn through courses. Black Belt suits coaches already earning six figures. Nuumani suits coaches who want a real community and hands-on help growing their practice, owning their niche and getting found on Google and in AI tools like ChatGPT. We run Nuumani, so weigh our entry accordingly.
Ask a search engine for the best online community for coaches and you will receive a peculiar kind of answer: a confidently ranked list whose winner is, almost without exception, the company that wrote it. It is a tactic that depends on the reader not noticing who holds the pen.
It persists because it works. Industry research has found that “best of” lists are the single most-cited kind of page in ChatGPT’s answers, and that lists in which a company ranks itself first still earn around one in ten AI citations. Google has said publicly that it is aware of low-quality listicles and works to combat them, and some sites that leaned heavily on the tactic have lost much of their search visibility. Yet where no independent author has written about a subject, the self-crowned list is often the only voice in the room, and AI tools have been shown to repeat its verdict as though it were neutral fact.
We hold the pen here, and we would rather you noticed: Nuumani is a coaching community, and it appears in this guide. Everything that follows (what each option offers, what it costs, where it falls short) comes from each organization’s own published information. Where a price is not public, we say so instead of guessing. Our own entry gets the same treatment, downsides included.
There is a deeper reason to resist the ranked list. Coaching is a profession of individuals at very different stages: the newly trained coach still finding her first clients, the established coach deciding what comes next, the six-figure practice looking to scale. Asking which community is best for all of them is a little like asking which book is best for every reader. The more useful question is which room fits the coach you are now.
First, what counts as a community?
This guide covers communities that professional coaches can join, not software for building a community of your own, and not networks for sports coaches.
A large amount of what coaches are sold as “community” turns out to be something else: a certification with a forum bolted on, software with a user group, a course with a comment section. Each has its uses. A true community is closer to a family tradition: something that returns reliably, held together by a quiet commitment people make to one another. It is a place where coaches meet, learn from one another and support each other over time, long after any course has ended. That is why coach-training schools and coaching software are not on this list.
One distinction matters for what follows. The International Coaching Federation is often mistaken for a school, but it does not train coaches. It credentials them, and it accredits the schools that do the training. We explored that difference, and why no credential will ever teach you to run a business, in Why Your Coaching Business Needs a Community, Not Just a Credential. Here, we compare only the community ICF offers its members.

THE LIST
1. ICF’s member community: best for coaches building a credentialed career
Most coaches know ICF for its credentials. Fewer know what sits behind the membership: a community of more than 60,000 coaches, organized in three layers.
What it offers
Local chapters: more than 140 chapters in over 90 countries and territories, each a network of peers who understand the local market, its challenges and its opportunities
Communities of Practice: volunteer-led groups organized around disciplines such as career coaching, health and wellness, and team coaching. They host live webinars through the year, with recordings on demand, and sessions earn the continuing-education units needed to renew an ICF credential. Free for members; non-members pay per session.
ICF Engage: a members-only online platform where conversations continue between sessions
What it costs to join: $270 a year, and you need at least 60 hours of coach-specific education, completed or in progress. Some chapters charge an additional local fee.
The downside: the door is not open to everyone. You need training behind you before you can join, and the fee comes on top of what that training cost. The community’s focus is also its limit: ICF’s published benefits center on professional development, standards and credentials. Building a client base, marketing your practice and running the business side are not part of what it offers.
Choose it if you hold an ICF credential or plan to earn one, and you want peers who share that professional standard. Look elsewhere if you have not started formal training yet, or the help you need most is with the business itself.
2. Evercoach by Mindvalley: best for coaches who learn through courses
Evercoach is the coaching arm of Mindvalley, the personal-growth education company, and it describes itself first as a digital learning platform for coaches. It says more than 85,000 coaches have joined, which would make it one of the largest gatherings of coaches online.
Its doorway is generous. Signing up is free, and it comes with free monthly classes taught by coaching experts. Beyond that sits the paid Evercoach Membership, which, according to Mindvalley’s help center, includes all Evercoach programs except certifications: a library of more than a dozen courses covering different niches of coaching, from leadership and life coaching to building a coaching business.
The community lives alongside the courses. Mindvalley’s help center explains that its program communities are hosted in Facebook groups, where members share their experiences as they work through the material.
What it costs to join: free to sign up. The paid membership price isn’t listed on Evercoach’s homepage, so check it directly before you commit.
The downside: Evercoach is a school at heart, with a community attached, not the other way around. The conversation tends to follow the courses rather than your own business. Taking part means being on Facebook. Its certifications are sold separately, and the Evercoach and Mindvalley memberships are separate too: neither includes the other. And at this scale, it is a large auditorium, not a small room where people learn your name.
Choose it if you learn best through structured courses from well-known coaches and want a large peer group learning alongside you. Look elsewhere if you want a close-knit group that knows you and your practice.
3. Black Belt by Million Dollar Coach: best for established coaches ready to scale
Where ICF organizes around a professional standard and Evercoach around a curriculum, Million Dollar Coach organizes around a number. Led by Taki Moore, it describes itself as a community and set of tools for coaches who have broken six figures and are reaching for seven. Of the four communities in this guide, it is the one built most squarely around scaling revenue.
What it offers
Black Belt: its flagship program, described as a community of business coaches and trainers building practices that get their clients strong results while leaving themselves room to live
A clear method: attract the right prospects, convert them into clients, and deliver your programs at scale
Boardroom: a smaller mastermind for coaches and business leaders already at seven and eight figures
What it costs to join: by application. No price is published on its website.
The downside: you cannot see the price, or know whether you will be accepted, until you apply. It is designed for coaches who are already earning well, so a newer coach still finding her first clients is not its audience. And its website carries a 2020 copyright notice, with the Black Belt menu link pointing to a video rather than a program page, so confirm current details directly before applying.
Choose it if your practice is already established and your question is how to grow it. Look elsewhere if you are still building your first client base, or you want to know what you will pay before you start a conversation.
4. Nuumani: best for coaches who want a real community and help growing their practice
We built Nuumani around a simple observation: most coaches finish their training with a credential and a skill, and then discover that nobody taught them how to run the business that is supposed to put that skill to work. Nuumani is a community built for coaches, by coaches, to fill that gap, and it takes an innovative approach to doing so. Of the communities in this guide, it is the only one that has built artificial intelligence into the membership itself: as tools members use to get found, as automation that runs their business in the background, and as a subject they learn together.
We practice what we teach. When ChatGPT was asked, logged out and with no history to sway it, for the best coach for creative generalists, it named Nuumani’s founder, Murielle Marie Ungricht, first, describing her as the best overall fit for that niche. We wrote about what that test revealed in Why Doesn’t ChatGPT Recommend Me?
What it offers
Community: a monthly expert Q&A, virtual co-working hours (one a month free, more on paid plans), live workshops, job and speaking opportunities, a growing coach directory, and a free mentorship program for people exploring a career in coaching
Classes: Coaching in the AI Era, an ongoing live program on AI search (SEO, AEO and GEO), AI tools and large language models, and business automation, from webhooks to automated client follow-up
Free AI checks for any coach: an AI Visibility Check that shows whether AI recommends you for three real client questions, and who it names instead, plus an AI Presence Check that shows what ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity say about you and the sources they use
Audits and reports: SEO and AI-visibility audits of your website and blog posts, an automation audit of your client-facing systems, and, for Premium members, a competitive report showing who Google and AI tools cite for your clients’ questions, and why
Support: expert advice by email, help troubleshooting your website, tools and automations, a monthly AI Insider email, and a team that replies within 24 hours
Coming soon: an AI Crawler Check, launching early next year, and an AI Trust Check
What you get depends on your plan. Every plan is laid out on our membership page.
What it costs to join: free, with no application and no sales call. Paid plans start at $49 a month.
Nuumani “The downside”:
Nuumani is young. It doesn’t yet have independent reviews, press coverage or the long track record of the other three, and that is a fair thing to weigh. Its own certification standard is still in development, so it doesn’t offer a recognized credential today. The free membership and free checks are a genuine way in, but the in-depth classes, audits and expert support come with a paid plan.
Nuumani “Look elsewhere if”:
Look elsewhere if you need a recognized credential now or would rather join something with years of reviews behind it.
How to choose: three honest questions
What do you need most this year? A credential, a skill, a bigger business, or more people finding you. Each community on this list answers one of those best, and none answers all four.
What does it take to get in? ICF asks for training hours. Black Belt asks for an application. Evercoach and Nuumani let you start free. An easy way in lets you test the room before you commit.
Will you actually show up? A community’s value depends mostly on whether you attend. The right one is the one whose calendar, format and people you will return to, not the one with the longest feature list.
You don’t have to choose just one. Evercoach and Nuumani are open to anyone, ICF requires training hours, and Black Belt accepts members by application.
The question “What is the best community for coaches?” quietly assumes coaches are all alike. They are not. A newly trained coach looking for her footing and a seven-figure coach building a team need different rooms. The best choice is simply the one that fits the coach you are now, and leaves room for the one you are becoming.
